The web site lebanon-dems.org, including Blue Donkey Blog, is intended as a place for Democrats (”D” and “d”), Progressives, and Liberals in Lebanon County Pennsylvania to work together to achieve our common goals. The site is not affiliated with the Lebanon County Democratic Committee. However, the Webmaster is a member of the Lebanon County Democratic Committee and the web site supports the goals of the Democratic party.

There is absolutely no adult content on this web site. But it is intended for discussion of and action on political and social issues. Minors generally do not have the level of experience required for discussion of these issues. You must be at least age fourteen (14) to register as a user. If a person under age 14 wishes to register, written permission of the minor’s parent or guardian will be required. Users under age 14 must be set up by the Webmaster. Pictures of or contact information of minors will never be allowed. Use by minors is strictly for educational and research purposes.

Restrictions

Lebanon-Dems.org will not tolerate personal attacks on any person. No flame wars allowed. Address policies and actions of the government or public officials, not the person. This rule does not forbid discussing the President or other high government officials. But even in discussing officials, address their actions or policies.

Users do not have to be registered Democratic voters. However, you must support the agenda and goals of the Democratic Party in general:

• Honest and Open Government
• Real Security
• Energy Independence
• Economic Prosperity and Educational Excellence
• A Health care System that Works for Everyone
• Retirement Security
• Civil Rights and Justice for Everyone
• Support the Troops, Veterans, and Military Families
• Election Reform

This does not mean you must agree with everything the Democratic Party does or says. Democrats agree to disagree.

Lebanon-Dems.org will not allow any content that violates copyright rights of others, is illegal, is pornographic, promotes violence, or attacks other persons. Exploition of children will never be allowed.

Failure to obey these terms and conditions will result in a warning from the Webmaster or Administrator on the first occurrence. The offending content will be removed by the Webmaster. Since the web site is owned by the Administrator the decisions of the Administrator are final.

Second violations of these rules will result in temporary banishment from the web site. Restoration of user rights will be on the condition that the user has learned to avoid future offenses. The decision of the Administrator is final.

A third offense will result in permanent banning from the web site. Attempts to exploit children will result in immediate, permanent banning of the offender on the first offense.

Decisions on whether content is illegal, pornographic, or exploits children solely at the discretion of the Administrator.

Registration Procedure

You must provide your actual name, email address, and location to register. The email address will be verified before registration is complete. Your email address will not be displayed unless you chose to give it to others because you wish to establish contact outside of the web site. The site has a private messaging system for users to exchange messages without revealing their email address. Warning: do not use your email address as your user names. Doing so will result in the address being visible to the whole world.

Email addresses

Any registered user (or member of the Lebanon County Democratic Committee) may request an email address at the domain lebanon-dems.org to prevent revealing your personal email address. The address will be set up as an email forwarder so you do not have to check another account. For example, jack@lebanon-dems.org will automatically forward to jack@something.com. You can then use that address in your profile. Contact the Webmaster giving the address you wish to have and your personal email address. The address should be the same as your web site user name. If you start receiving spam at the address just request a new one or have the forwarder closed.

There is a security system, called Captcha, to prevent registration by web bots attempting to harvest email addresses. When you register you must fill in a code shown as an obscured graphic. If you have trouble reading the code, please contact the Webmaster who can register you without the security check.

After registration you may upload a picture or drawing to identify your self to other users. The graphic must be approved by the Administrator. There are size restrictions on graphics. They must be in JPEG format. The suggested size is approximately 48×48 pixels.

Thank you for registering as a user of Lebanon-Dems.org. I hope the web site proves useful to you. If there are features that are not being offered please let me know. If possible, it may be considered as an additional service or feature. No promises though.
